Melbourne and Sydney both are marvelous and loveable place in
Australia and the rivalry exists for the past eighty years. There is no
shortage of arguments in favor of one or another city. Both are good, and it
may be difficult to decide who is better.
Urban Landscape
Sydney is the oldest city while Melbourne is the second
largest city of Australia. Sydney is considered to be the financial headquarter
and Melbourne is well behind in terms of economic size. Sydney like other big
cities is very condensed and compact in development and has hectic and busy
environment. In the terrain, Melbourne is flat with open roads as compared to
hilly terrain in Sydney. Melbourne is full of decent urban designs and rich in
architecture.
Public Transport
Melbourne has the upper hand in Public Transportation with
modern, efficient tram service. Sydney is served by conventional old and
inefficient buses with expensive fare system.
Community Area
Surrounding areas concept is different with people and
affects you stay in safe and beautiful areas in Sydney or Melbourne. Average
income of residents in Sydney’s wealthy community is higher than city standard
offering fantastic and spectacular views during daytime and nighttime.
Melbourne also offers very rich culture with people going for
jogging and exercises in the morning. It has fabulous garden and parks to enjoy
the landscape beauty of the city. Some students, not surprisingly, hate the
famous Royal Exhibition Building for their examinations.
Splurge
Sydney is relatively expensive than Melbourne for food,
entertainment, and public transport. Sydney has a lot of opportunities for
spending time in Australia. Melbourne is
full of ample opportunities for investment of city knowledge and experiences.
People love and enjoy living in Melbourne for amazing travel, nature, people,
and study context.
Sydney does not have a similar great experience as of
Melbourne. One could go to any extreme for excitements and dynamic experiences
in life and new openings in Sydney.
People
People living in cities are also the most important factor
influencing the enjoyment at any place in Sydney or Melbourne. Your contacts
and a network of young age friendship during schooling or group of international
friends and friends at student clubs and societies at university level would
make a difference.
It is your personality that makes the difference and live
happily with friends and other optimistic people around you. You can make
everyone cheered up with your energy and personality. You have to take up an
appropriate decision to surround yourself with such people of like minded,
whether at Melbourne or at Sydney. Your friends and colleagues would be guiding
you while at food or for fashion avoiding stress for your daily routine needs.
Studying and researching for suitable accommodation could be
stressful but your friends can always be good and would take you to good places
for food or enjoying when you are relatively free. They can be a source of good
knowledge about the places of sales, part-time work for the sake of earning
pocket money and places of exciting travels.
Finally, it is not easy to demarcate specifically whether
Sydney is better than Melbourne or so for living in Australia. It is a very
subjective decision, and it all depends on your personal choice amongst the
cities. You must make your judgment and make a choice depending on your
requirements and opportunities in cities.
